Interbank is private bank in Peru. It is a subsidiary of Intergroup Financial Services (IFS).
Interbank came into existence in 1897, when it was known as El Banco Internacional del Peru (International Bank of Peru). It was founded on May 1 and began operations on May 17. The bank’s headquarters were on Calle Espaderos in Lima.
The bank began to expand in 1934, when it opened branches in Arequipa and Chiclaya.
In 1994, a group of financiers, led by Dr. Carlos Rodríguez-Pastor Mendoza, became El Banco Internacional del Perú’s largest shareholder, with 91% of shares.
The name of the bank was changed to Interbank in 1996. A decision was made to convert the branches into tiendas financieras (finance stores), which would offer each customer special treatment and provide every customer with the necessary financial services and products.
Interbank has continued to modernize, employing advanced technology in order to improve services.
Today, Interbank’s headquarters are located in a modern tower in Lima, between Avenida Javier Prado and Paseo de la República.

Interbank is the only bank in Peru that has branches in supermarkets.

With an Ahorro Planeado (planned savings) account, a portion of your salary is automatically transferred into the account.
