Citibank Perú

Citibank Perú S.A is a subsidiary of Citibank N.A., a New York State corporation.

In 1812, City Bank of New York was founded and its headquarters were set up on Wall Street in New York City.

It became part of the national banking system of the United States in 1865, and was renamed The National City Bank of New York.

The bank’s name was changed to First National City Bank of New York in 1955 and then shortened to First National City Bank in 1962. The bank became known as Citibank N.A. in 1976.

The National City Bank of New York began operating in Peru in 1920, in an office in Plazuela del Teatro in Lima. The first Peruvian employee, Carlos Prieto Morla, began working there in 1920 and continued to work for the bank until the 1960s.

Today, Citibank Perú S.A. serves about 200,000 consumers, about 180 small and medium enterprises and more than 980 large corporations.
